Vuoden 2026 NOME-A SM-kokeen tuomarit

Reima Ronkainen, ylituomari

Kiitos kutsusta päästä tuomaroimaan noutajien A-SM koetta.

Toivotan kaikille osallistujille onnea.

Pekka Uusimäki

On etuoikeus ja kunnia saada kutsu tulla arvostelemaan NOME-A SM-koetta 2026.

Toivotan onnea kaikille kokeeseen osallistuville.

Nähdään helmikuussa Salossa!

Kevin Doughty, UK

Kevin Doughty’s journey into the world of Gundog trials began in 1984, when he clinched victory in his first novice retriever trial. Since then, he has become a prominent figure in the sport, achieving remarkable success with Labradors and Golden Retrievers. Over the years, he has accumulated more than 36 trial wins, and has bred and trained dogs that have earned the coveted Field Trial Champion (FTCH) status. His current champion, FTCH Tideshot Vinny of Highseas, has qualified for the prestigious IGL Retriever Championship for the last three years, with hopes of extending this streak to four.

But Doughty’s talents don’t stop with retrievers. He has also made his mark with spaniels, even representing England at the Ragley Hall Game Fair. His keen understanding of various breeds has made him a respected competitor in the field.

Appointed to the A Panel in 1996, Doughty has since judged at numerous European Championships and has been called upon to officiate the Irish Championships as well as the IGL Championships on three occasions. His influence extends beyond the field, having served on several Gundog committees and currently holding the position of President of the Cambridgeshire Field Trial Society, as well as Chairman of the Utility Gundog Society.

In the warmer months, Doughty can be found at his training ground, Highseas in Suffolk, where he runs working tests and charity events. His commitment to the sport is unwavering, and his passion for developing the next generation of top gundogs is evident.

Paul Wheeler, UK

I first came into gundogs in 1999 when I bought my first black Labrador which was already trained. I was an avid wildfowler at the time and all I wanted was a dog to retrieve my ducks. My first dog I bought was through a gentleman called Paul Sinclair (Flightline Gundogs) who won the championship in 1973. It became quite clear very quickly that I enjoyed the dogs more than shooting and the bug of gundog training got me straight away and within 6 months I bought my first puppy. Paul Sinclair became a good friend to me and my mentor for the first few years of my journey in the gundog world.

I won my first field trial in 2002 with a dog called Blue which was the first dog I had trained, I then decided to create my own kennel affix Willowrise. As my gundog career progressed, I met several people within the gundog world Kevin Doughty & David Latham who have both given me guidance and lots of advice along my way and they also became very good friends of mine to this day.

My greatest success was in 2022 when I won 2 x 2 day open stakes and double qualifying for the IGL championship with Willowrise Star Spinner (Merlin) making him up to a FTCh and then going on to get fourth with Merlin at the IGL Championship 2022.

I am a B Panel Judge and I enjoy travelling up and down the country judging throughout the trialing season and also the summer with working tests too.

It is a true privilege to be asked to judge the Finnish championship and I wish all the competitions the very best of luck.
